In the beginning the Lacs and Calmsters go to different schools. Page 5 and 6 show what it looks like inside the Lacs' school. Draw a picture of what it might look like inside the Calmsters school. Then look at the new school an pages 25 and 26. List what you would add to make the school an even better place.
Look at the illustration on page 22. Why is there a light bulb drawn above the Lac's head? Why did the illustrator choose to draw the picture like this? How else could the illustrator have drawn the picture? Draw a different illustration for the text on the page?

Discuss the use of chants and regular beat. When do we hear chants? (sports carnivals, cricket matches, football games). In small groups make up a chant for the newly formed village where the Lacs and the Calmsters live happily together.
